HOUSTON, Feb. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Carriage Services, Inc. (NYSE: CSV) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, the prominent funeral services provider in Clarksville, TN which was originally founded in 1916 by Lynnwood Tarpley.  Mike Parchman, a relative of Mr. Tarpley, had worked at the funeral home while attending high school, and in 2004 purchased the business from Prime Succession with a vision of serving the Clarksville community with one of the finest funeral facilities anywhere in the country.  In 2007, he completed a first-class, state-of-the-art 12,000-plus square foot facility on over 3.5 acres of land and re-located the funeral home to just outside of downtown Clarksville from its original, smaller downtown location.  Mr. Parchman has since grown this business into the premiere funeral service provider that serves the greater Clarksville community.  The acquisition of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, which serves over 375 families per year, expands Carriage's footprint in and around the strategic Tennessee market, and aligns with Carriage's commitment to local partnerships with family-run businesses.  Mike Parchman will remain active in the Clarksville community as the business' Managing Partner.

Melvin C. Payne, Chairman and CEO of Carriage, stated, "The acquisition of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is a perfect fit with our strategic acquisition growth strategy.  The first time I met Mike Parchman at the National Funeral Directors Association in Nashville last year, we instantly had a mutual cultural and trust connection and conviction that both our businesses would become better if we joined our respective strengths consistent with One Team, One Vision.  Carriage prides itself on partnering with the finest independent operators in the industry and Mike Parchman epitomizes this vision.  Tennessee is a traditional market and our goal is that this acquisition represents the first of many in the attractive Tennessee market, specifically Nashville, which we consider one of our 15-20 large strategic markets over the next ten years."
